Hypoallergenic

Siberian cats are often considered hypoallergenic because they tend to produce lower levels of the allergenic protein Fel d 1 compared to other breeds. However, they are not completely hypoallergenic, and individual reactions can vary, so I recommend spending time with a Siberian cat before adopting one if you have allergies. Email me about the possibility of scheduling an allergy visit.

A common misconception is that Siberians don’t shed, but this couldn’t be farther from the truth! They shed a lot, and need daily grooming to keep their triple coat in prime condition. Mats can develop easily if not groomed regularly. Visit my essentiels page to see my recommended grooming tools.
